You can reach Lopar by various means of transportation. If you are arriving by car, the best connection with the island is from the port Stinica on the mainland to the port Mišnjak on the island. The ride is about 15 minute long and in the summer months it runs non-stop. The other line that connects the island of Rab with the island of Krk is Lopar-Valbiska, where the ride is about 1,5 hours long.
You can also reach the island by passenger boat – catamaran. Catamaran connects Rab with Rijeka and island of Pag (Novalja). Daily routes from Rijeka can bring you to Rab in less than 2 hours or take you further to Novalja. The catamaran ride is comfortable, affordable and interesting.
If you are arriving by bus, you can use regular lines from Rijeka that operate twice a day, four times a day from Zagreb and once a week from Varaždin. In winter months, the lines are less likely, but the exact schedule can be found on the operator’s web site.
The nearest airport is on the nearby island of Krk where several international routes connect it with major European cities. Transfer of passengers is done on daily basis towards from the airport in Rijeka, Pula, Zagreb and Zadar, and the transfer is provided by the company Imperial (reservations and inquiries at email@example.com). The novelty on the island is the seaplane that reaches larger Croatian cities in only few minutes.
